Holly Quran: A book of S-i-g-n-s NOT S-c-i-e-n-c-e.

1. The shape of the Earth.

  • In the beginning, the scientist thought that the earth is flat.
Sir Francis Drake

It was in 1577, Sir Francis Drake, proved that the earth was spherical. when he sailed around the earth.

Map of Sir Francis drake voyage

Quran says in Surah Luqman — chapter 31:29.

Translation.

Do you not see that Allah causes the night to merge into the day and the day into the night,

  • Allah merges the night into the day and merges the day into the night. Merging is a gradual and slow process. The night slowly and gradually merges into the day. And the day slowly and gradually merged into the night.
  • If the earth was flat there has been a sudden change. It would not have been a gradual process of night merging of the day and day merging to the night.
the night merge into the day

Quran says in Surah Az-Zumar — chapter 39:5

Translation;

He wraps the night around the day and wraps the day around the night.

  • The Arabic word “KAWARA” means to overlap coils.
  • The Quran says it is Allah who overlaps of coils the night into the day and overlaps of coils the day into the night.
  • “Kawara” is how you coil turban into your head. It is only possible if the shape of the earth is spherical.
“Kawara” is how you coil turban into your head

Quran says in Surah An-Nazi’at — 79:30

Translation:

And after that, He spread the earth.

  • One meaning of the word “Dahaha” is “Spread”. The other meaning of the Arabic word “Dahaha” is derived from the Arabic word “Dooyah” which means an egg.
  • We know today that the earth on which we live isn’t round like a ball, it is geo circular fit as a fiddle, it is smoothed from the shaft and swelling from the center.
  • The Arabic word “Dooya” doesn’t mean a normal egg. it specifically means the egg of an ostrich. And if we analyze the shape of the egg of an ostrich, it too is geo spherical in shape. Imagine the glorious Quran Mentions 1400 years ago. It doesn’t say spherical only it specifically mentions the egg of an ostrich
The Arabic word “Dooya” doesn’t mean a normal egg it specifically means the egg of an ostrich

2. Light of the Moon

  • Beforehand the researchers felt that the light of the moon was its own light.
Dark moon

Quran says in Surah Al-Furqan — 25:61

Translation;

Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon.

  • There is an Arabic word used for the Sun in the Quran. It is “shams” and its light is always described as “Siraj” “wahhaj” “Dea”. Which means light having its own light or the bursting light or a sparkling magnificence.
  • The Arabic word for moon is “Commar” and its light is described as “Munir” or “Noor” which means borrowed light or reflected light.
  • The Quran has contained no single verse where the light of the moon is described as its own light.
  • And the Arabic word for star is “Najam”. and its light is described as “Saqib”. Meaning the light by the time it arrives at the Earth loses its brilliance like a piercing splendor. The splendid light when it arrives at it devours itself.

3. Sun rotates its own axis.

  • European scientists believed that the earth was the center of our solar system. And all the planets, as well as the moon and the Sun, revolved around the earth was called geocentrism.
Nicolaus Copernicus

And this was believed since the time of Ptolemy in the 2nd century BC. Until Nicolaus Copernicus in1512. He propounded the heliocentric theory of planetary motion and he said. It is the Sun that is the center of the solar system and all the planets as well as the earth revolves around the Sun.

johannes Kepler

later on a German scientist by the name of johannes Kepler in 609. He wrote in his book by the name Astronomia nova. that not only do the planets and the earth revolve around the Sun but they also rotate about their axis.

  • When I was in school I read that the planets and the earth revolve around the Sun. and the planets and the earth rotated about the own axis. and the whole solar system also in the galaxy of our world including the Sun. But the Sun did not rotate about its axis in this context the Sun was stationary but the,

Quran says in Surah Al-Anbiya — 21:33

Translation;

And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming

  • So the Quran says the Sun and the moon besides revolving they also rotate about their axis.
  • The Arabic word “Yasbahoon” is derived from another Arabic word “Sabaha”. which means the motion of a moving body.
  • The Arabic word “Sabaha” if I use this word for a person who moves on the floor, it will mean he’s either walking or running.
  • If I use this word for a person in the water it will not mean is floating it will the meaning is swimming.
  • Similarly, when Allah uses the same word for a celestial body. it does not mean that it is flying in the air, it means it is moving along with its rotation, it is rotating about its axis.

Quran says the and the moon besides revolving and it also rotates about its axis. and today science has discovered that even the Sun Rotates since we can’t see the Sun Directly. you get blinded if you see directly. if you have the equipment and have the image of the Sun on a tabletop we find that there are spots in the Sun. And it takes about 25 days for the spot to complete one rotation. its indicating that the Sun takes approximately 25 days to complete one rotation.

4. The fourth State of Matter.

  • Lately, scientists have discovered that there are bridges of matter in interstellar space. It’s not a vacuum. and it is called plasma. They see this matter is in a form of gaseous matter which has an equal number of positive ions as well as electrons.
Interstellar medium

Quran says in Surah Al-Furqan — 25:59

Translation;

He Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them in six days

  • So the Quran says there is matter in between the heavens and the earth. today science says that plasma can be considered as the fourth type of matter.
Plasma, the 4rth state of matter
  • Today’s science also tells us that the atmosphere of the earth acts as a filter. It prevents harmful radiations from all the space to come onto the surface of the earth. It prevents x rays and ultraviolet rays to reach the surface of the earth. which is very for the sustained use of life. If this filter of the Earth’s atmosphere wasn’t there then life would not exist on the face of the earth.

Quran says in Surah Al-Anbiya — 21:32

Translation:

And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away.

  • The Arabic word “Samawat”. which means we have made the heavens that the sky as a canopy well-guarded. Today science has come to know that this prorated ceiling life is impossible without this protected seiling on the earth.

Quran says in Surah Adh-Dhariyat — 51:47

Translation:

And the heaven We constructed with strength,1 and indeed, We are [its] expander.

Stephen Hawking

According to Stephen Hawking. Who is a very famous scientist he writes in his book the brief history of time says the discovery of the expanding.

The universe is the greatest discovery of the century.

Which is mentioned in the Quran 14 centuries before.

There might be cynics or some non-muslims. Who will say it isn’t anything extraordinary that the Quran Speaks about astronomy. Since the Arabs were very much progressed in the field of stargazing. I do concur with them that the Arabs were advanced in the field of space science. Yet I might want to remind them it is hundreds of years after the Quran was revealed that. And the Arabs progressed in the field of space science. So it is from the Quran that the Arabs procured about space science. Not the other way around and there were numerous things about stargazing notice in the Quran.
