These books must affect you and change you internally.

1- The Diving Bell and the Butterfly:

It is one of the saddest stories you would have come across. The story revolves around a narcissistic editor who later turns to the award of the hospital and a stroke leaves him paralyzed and unable to communicate. I cried during events. This book written by Jean-Dominique Bauby talks about relationships and can get you all emotional because you sort of relate it to yourself.

2- Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance:

Do you need some motivation to drive you/ lover your work? Read Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance then. This book would make you realize the importance of concentration that is needed to perform work and achieve results simultaneously. For example, if you are doing your work make sure that that’s the only thing you do, and do not let your attention divert from that particular work. Do not listen to music or watch TV while you are doing something that is of massive importance to you. And eventually, this English book will make you take pride in the work you will be doing.

3- Cat’s Cradle:

Are you interested in nuclear science or weapons of mass destruction? Well, the cat’s cradle is your book then. Jonah, the narrator, wants to write a novel in English about the inventor of the atomic bomb Dr. Frank Hoenikker.

The pursuit of knowledge is questioned in this particular book. The power of the weapon and its use in political pressure is identified in this particular book.

This will help you know how prejudices and Preconceived might affect a child’s personality.

Well, I guess the information is not enough. The book talks about colonialism, the human condition, and the political strife in Latin America.

6- Invisible Monsters:

Have you read A thousand splendid suns? Did you find this English novel disturbing? Well, that was nothing.

By Chuck Palahniuk, this novel is a story of a model who gets shot in the head and she goes on a journey to find out who did that? And the exploration of true love is one is to look for in this particular English novel.

7- White Oleander:

The author Janet Fitch tells the story of Astrid’s mother who is sent to prison for murdering a former lover. And Astrid is sent to Los Angeles to foster care. The story is about how he manages to survive in a situation such as that.

8- In cold Blood:

This novel revolves around the murder of the Clutter Family in 1959 and why the murderers Perry and Dick committed their crimes. Author Truman Capote in a non-judgmental way leads us to understand different things and come up with a conclusive point of our own. The conclusion about penal system, justice and violence crimes.

9- Middlesex :

This English Novel is a closer look at human biology and how families are shaped. This book might be a great read for anyone interested in gender.

10- Play it as it Lays

The protagonist, Maria Wyeth, a Hollywood actress seems to have lost her self-concept. and identity. This is one of the great reads in terms of shaping up your personality.
